I have a 2001 chevrolet silverado Z71 extended cab and I am trying to figure out which lift to put on my truck. I know there is alot more that goes into an 8" lift but I am not sure what. I want something that will ride and look good. So if you could help me on prices, brand, and ride quality it would be much appreciated.

If I were to decide, it would be an 8" lift. You can always crank it down to 6 if you want

Well, 6" for everyday daily driver, 8" or more if your serious about offroad and ground clearance.
My last truck hat 6" lift and 35" tires. I could go anywhere I needed to go. I think any bigger, it makes daily driving harder.

or 6 suspension with a 3 bodylift. I had that on my daily driver and could fit in some parkings....any higher and I would have been stuck.

Honestly it depends on what you are using the truck for.

I already have a 3" body lift on it right now and was thinking about just adding the 6" lift. But those gaps between the bed and the frame I don`t like but I have no idea how an 8" lift will ride. I am thinking about the fabtech 6" lift.

Have you ever heard of gap guards? : You wouldn`t see that ugly gap if you added those.

well I have but I have a tahoe bumper on the front and it sits kind of funny and the body shop said it was from the body lift and that I would not have that problem with the suspension lift. The back bumper sags as well.

with a 6" kit you are looking to run 35" tall tires, which are....OK....with half ton suspension components ie. gears, wheelbearings, tie rods, cvs etc...with 8" of lift your lookin at 37" tall tires which are gonna need a regear to get moving, and are just gonna stress all that other stuff EVEN more than the 35`s.

6" gets my vote its noticeable but not in your face that extra 2" makes you a cop target also to give you a hard time
